2018 classes: All current classes are now sold out. Further classes will be posted later in 2018, following my maternity leave. To learn more about baking bread at home, you can sign up to my FREE five-day bread making hints and tips email series here. You’ll then be added to my email mailing list and will receive notification as soon as new class dates are available.
Sourdough, that most ancient of bread making techniques. Crusty, tangy, flavoursome loaves as the result of just flour, water, salt and time. This hands-on class will introduce you to all things sourdough. You’ll leave with the confidence to make and bake a range of great tasting loaves at home, plus armfuls of crusty bread to enjoy with family and friends.
What will you make during the class?
You’ll learn what a sourdough starter is and how to make, use and store one at home. There’ll also be tips and tricks to show you how to fit sourdough bread baking around a busy life. Then we’ll fire up the oven and mix, knead and bake five or six breads, learning the basics of bread making alongside sourdough techniques.
Where are classes held?
Classes are usually held in Epsom, either centrally or at my home near Tattenham Corner. Both locations have parking on site and are close to public transport links.
How much is the class?
The class is £125 per person. A light lunch is included on the day.
Will you need to bring anything?
You will just need to bring an apron and some bags or boxes to use to transport your freshly baked breads safely home.
Will there be time for questions during the class?
Class sizes are limited to allow maximum individual attention and there will be plenty of time to ask questions during the day. You will also have my contact details should you have any bread making queries after the class ends.
Detailed notes will be provided so that you can continue baking bread at home straight away.
What’s the feedback from previous students?
