The Epsom Bakehouse head shot 2The Epsom Bakehouse seeded malthouse sour

Hello, I’m Rhiannon and I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember. Or, at least since my Mum realised I could make a decent shortcrust pastry and put me to work helping her out in the kitchen!

As a passionate home baker, I love creating something tasty to share with family and friends. At the end of 2012, I decided to turn passion into business and open a bakery from my home in Epsom. Initially, I completed Virtuous Bread’s microbakery course and have since spent time volunteering at a bakery school as well as alongside other established Bread Angels. Further experience came when I completed bread making courses with renowned bakers Richard Bertinet and Paul Merry.

I began selling breads from a stall at The Epsom Farmers Market in summer 2013, running the stall until December 2014. All loaves were made using traditional, long ferment methods, with flour sourced direct from Shipton Mill. The stall was run in partnership with another Bread Angel and we built a regular custom – I loved getting to know my customers who stopped by for a chat each month.

Now, I enjoy passing on my skills and knowledge through my range of informal, hands-on bread making courses. I love seeing students’ success and the ‘wow’ moment as fresh baked loaves appear from the oven – both are a great part of each class for me. Students have left me some wonderful reviews of their experiences too.
